Have you built your website but not getting any phone calls? Having a website doesn’t mean that customers will automatically find it. In the early 2000s, when the Internet was starting to gain traction, just having a website was all you needed. However, the game has changed.
If you don’t proactively market your website, your website will not be found.
Choose Google AdWords for instant exposure. AdWords are paid ads that are Pay Per Click (PPC). When Ad campaigns are stopped however, your ad will no longer be seen. A challenge in AdWords is maintaining a low cost per click. When keywords become more competitive over time, you will need to pay more. AdWords campaigns need to be regularly monitored and maintained in order to maximise your return on investment.
Another strategy to be found online is through SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). SEO involves a slow and steady approach that will maximise exposure over the long term. This involves optimising your website content and code to be search engine friendly as well as being relevant for your customers. Using a targeted strategy, rankings for various keywords can be built up over time. When keywords rank on page 1 of search engines, potential customers will find your website and you don't have to worry about paying for every click.
Both approaches have benefits and trade-offs and require time and skill to get results.
Be careful of cheap SEO services. At best you will get no results, at worst your website will be penalised.
